Integrating Wellness into Design

Architecture can empower users of a space, impacting behavior for the better. Emerging design approaches are integrating wellness into our everyday lives, focusing on lifestyle and social equity. Healthcare is touching us where we live, morphing with retail, housing, and public buildings. We explore what it means for use to become untethered by typology, from economic and policy factors leading to investment in population health, to the role of Big Data in defining populations and health metrics for planning and design. For architecture to stay relevant, we must design places that break down cultural, economic and social barriers to wellness.
